RGB Colour Changing Strip Fitted with Epistar LEDs

Our range of RGB strips are built with high grade Epistar 5050 LEDs for superior performance. This strip is fitted with 60 LEDs per metre. The light strip is waterproof to IP68 rating, encapsulated in a square silicone tube and injected with liquid silicone making it completely water tight.

Strip Lengths

This LED strip is sold in 2.5m and 5m lengths. We can also supply bespoke lengths in increments of 5cm by special order with a 10-14 day lead time – Contact us for details.

As standard, this LED Strip is manufactured and supplied in 5m lengths, so purchases of strip other than this standard length is non-returnable as it have been cut to size or specially manufactured for you.

We supply 5m strips with an input cable at both ends. Other length (2.5m) strips have an input cable at one end.

Description

Cutting and Sealing the LED Strip

The LED strip can be cut with scissors, to as small as every 3 LEDs (5cm). Once cut the end of the LED strip will need sealing. We sell small tubes of clear silicone and clear rubber end caps which can be used to seal the cut end of the LED strip. Select the ‘Sealing Kit’ if required. The kit includes two end caps and 1 small tube of silicone.

The LED strip is self adhesive backed, however water can degrade the adhesive over time. Alternatively we sell clear mounting clips which screw down to secure the LED strip. Select ‘Mounting Clips’ in the blue options box if required. They are sold in packs of 20.

Up to 5 metres of LED strip can be wired in series with the controller. Additional LED strips need to be connected in parallel (see the Diagram).

Installing the IP68 LED strip in a suitable housing

Due to the increased height of the IP68 LED strip, the only suitable profile is the ‘Square’ aluminium housing.

You need a LED 12 Volt Driver to power LED flexible strip. Each metre of this strip requires 14.4 watts, so choose a driver powerful enough to supply the total wattage required.
